As I told those of you who got my newsletter this week – yes, I finally started sending newsletters – it’s been an eventful year for our family. Joshua Greenspan, the man formerly known as The Kid, married the extraordinary Linling Tao in Paris and there was joy throughout our little world.
And then, a month later, Everyday Dorie entered the world and I set off to meet cooks and bakers around the country and in Toronto, too. Thank you to all of you who came out to talk to me about cooking and sharing meals with your family and friends. I loved meeting you and hearing your stories. Thank you to all the bookstores and restaurants that hosted me. Thank you to the journalists who told the Everyday Dorie story so beautifully and special thanks to Food 52 for producing three videos in a series called Dinner with Dorie. A thousand thanks to the many sites that named Everyday Dorie one of the best cookbooks of 2018, among them Amazon, Epicurious, The Atlantic and Eat Your Books.
I’ll be in Australia and New Zealand with Michael, Joshua and Linling until mid-January. If I ever come to from the flight, I’ll be posting pics to my Instagram account.
Thank you all for being so wonderfully encouraging to me, for inspiring me daily and for continuing to cook and bake for the people you love. No matter what else is happening in the world, sharing food with those you love creates a circle of peace and kindness that we all need.
