A tart made from what was around – sweet tart crust (it was fitted into a 6-inch fluted pan and in the freezer); rhubarb from the garden (cut, tossed with a little sugar, left to rest 30 minutes while I partially baked the crust, and then spread over the bottom of the crust); almond cream/crème d’amande over the rhubarb (that, too, was in the freezer); and a few strawberries that were tastier after baking than they were before. Some days things work out.
