French Food? American Food? How Different Are They?
In order, there’s: steamed leeks with mussels, trout roe and vinaigrette; petals of raw scallops with citrus vinaigrette (it got my vote for best dish of the day); and a slice of room temperature grilled beef (hard to see) with toasted mustard seeds, topped with raw carrots and radishes and a very light vinaigrette.
Could you have had this food in New York or San Francisco or Chicago or Dallas or I think so.
If I served you any of these dishes, would you say, “Oh, goody! French food!” Probably not, huh?
