Just in case I haven't mentioned this in the last 10 minutes, I've got a fabulous son, Joshua "The Kid" Greenspan. That he's also my partner in CookieBar is just the icing on the cake, so to speak. And if you're not sure what defines fabulousness in sons and partners, how about this: The Kid is going to fill up his MetroCard and hit the New York City subways on Friday to deliver CookieBar cookies to Manhattanite cookie lovers in time for the weekend.
With an attitude and determination that rivals a postman's, Joshua is going to brave rush hour crowds, sharp elbows and squeaky train wheels to bring sweetness to the lives of those who get their orders in before 4pm on Wednesday.
CookieBar just opened a limited online store and we'll be selling four of our favorite cookies: Sugar-Topped (super-buttery) Sables, Coconut-LIme Sables, Espresso Shortbreads with Chocolate Chips (really hand-chopped Valrhona chocolate) and our famous World Peace Cookies.
Here's how it works:
Go to the CookieBar site, click on See Our Cookies and then shop. Get your order in by 4 pm on Wednesday and Joshua will have your cookies to you on Friday.
When we get the kinks ironed out of this, we'll start delivering on Tuesday as well. (Orders will have to be in by Sunday at 4pm for Tuesday deliveries.)
And then ... lookout America, here we come. But first things first -- you order, we bake and Joshua gets a new MetroCard.

Nice to see the love of dessert runs in the family. Congratulations to Joshua on his endeavor. Makes me wish I lived in NYC.

So glad I'm in the city still!

As it turns out, my husband and I will be in New York, so I've excitedly ordered cookies to be delivered to the hotel as a surprise for him! Fantastic idea, and good to know that it will expand to the rest of the US because we aren't staying in NYC more than a few weeks!

Thanks, El. We're hoping that it won't be long until we can deliver outside of NYC.

Nancy and Hayley -- it's so great that you're in the city. I hope I'll get to see you both while you're in town.

Husband Lauro wants to move to Manhattan, and if he gets wind of this, Pinecone Meadow Farm will be sporting a "for sale" sign in front by sundown!

My "kid" will turn 26 on Friday. He will also have just finished taking the NY bar exam. So, obviously, he needs cookies! This will be a sweet b'day surprise from his mama.

Hi Dorie, Congratulations to Joshua on his Cookie Bar endeavor. Your post reminded me that you mentioned a while back that maybe the stainless steel rings (that you use for baking the cookies) would be available for purchase. Any update on them?
